Howdy, I'm John, and I founded Full Speed Ops.

 

Like so many others, I was laid off from my job post-pandemic and faced a tough decision: try to resume my career at a new company or follow my passion and start my own business.

 

Having 20+ years of success being employed by a variety of companies had given me a lot of confidence that I knew what it takes to "climb the ladder" successfully, but as my career had advanced, I found that my positions were becoming increasingly less about my passion and more about "my job." 

 

The thought of creating my own business was intimidating. I had been a part of other small businesses, and I learned first-hand just how much effort, energy, money, and luck it takes to successfully start something from scratch. There's no easy blueprint for success and no safety net to fall back on.

 

The answer came to me as I was networking with other small business owners and team leaders inside larger companies. I found myself excited by their ideas, empathizing with their journey, and inspired by their visions for the future. They were fulfilling conversations which stuck with me longer after the talking was over.The recurring theme from those folks was, "I don't have enough hours in my day...I need to go faster without the wheels falling off."

 

Thus was born Full Speed Ops, a business where I use my decades of operations experience, which is all about maximizing your productivity while minimizing your resource usage, and point it at the question, "How can small  businesses get more done without the wheels coming off?"
